About the Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will lead manufacturing process development optimize existing operations and commission equipment for new product lines. Lingrove is seeking a strong leader who will complement our R&D and engineering teams to manufacture innovative products that customers want to buy. You will work with the executive team to set a roadmap determine and acquire the appropriate technological resources and team and execute with precision to the highest level of manufacturing quality. A successful candidate will have a unique combination of continuous manufacturing industry experience (broad/deep technology expertise within both researching and manufacturing composites or hard goods) while being inventive comfortable working in ambiguous environments and adept at leading a team and other key audiences. You must be independent and flexible able to multitask/meet deadlines and demonstrate strong consultative leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a safety-first environment through collaboration with the manufacturing team
- Understand the equipment and monitor performance; ensure all maintenance completed to schedule
- Establish implement and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for in-house and third-party manufacturing operations ensuring alignment with quality standards and compliance
- Enable production through manufacturing equipment maintenance and protective measures
Develop and utilize Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to assess risk prioritize and track initiatives that ensure equipment process and product robustness
- Identify root cause and implement solutions for production and process issues to maximize throughput and yield
- Improve margins via production efficiencies and value engineering
- Adopt manufacturing processes that support product development and versioning
- Manage production process development with R&D team and 3rd parties
- Monitor and report production and quality risks
- Optimize manufacturing processes and quality systems to improve yield
- Spec and commission new equipment to meet requirements
- Ensure conformance of production testing is completed to schedule
- Lead research and planning for future production scale up
- Commitment to continuous improvement to comply with ISO 9001:2000
Qualifications
Requirements Skills & Experience
- Bachelors Degree
- 5 years high volume manufacturing experience preferably in composites/thermoplastics with continuous/roll-to-roll processing operations
- Industry expertise in researching developing and manufacturing products in composites consumer durables (includes wall covering flooring and furniture) and/or auto industry; experience bringing new solutions to market
- Experience leading capital projects with strong manufacturing equipment aptitude
- Data driven and process oriented with a focus on developing creative solutions
- Strong project reporting skills with a focus on interdepartmental communication
- Proven success in project coordination and delivery; on time and on budget
- Adept at use of project management and communication tools
Soft Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly professional/resourceful with a proactive and energetic attitude
- Demonstrates a hands-on approach is comfortable with ambiguity and is adept at balancing priorities
- Effectively communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
