Job Summary

SUMMARY

The position of Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the evaluation of the manufacturing processes and equipment. This position will focus on Safety Quality Yield Productivity Improvement OEE operator training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the processes within product line processing cost estimating layouts planning standards etc. and requires the coordination of all disciplines.
Identify delays in production and sources of waste. Utilize engineering principles to refine.
Assist with equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturers procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational.
Analyze production processes schedules methods and other data to meet Safety Quality Productivity/Throughput and Cost objectives and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
Identify technology solutions to eliminate unnecessary steps and improve manufacturing Safety Quality Productivity/Throughput and Cost Reduction.
Perform root-cause failure analysis support 8D investigations and development of PFMEAs.
Provide engineering direction to optimize yield improvement.
Train staff on how to properly incorporate new technology and methods into current production standards.
Writing maintaining and ensuring SWIs are in place followed and enforced.
Construct the best measurement to gauge the performance of a process with daily measures and trend charting of key pacer equipment
Working with department management to ensure planned changes are enforced

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BS in Mechanical Industrial Manufacturing Materials Science Engineering or other technical degree with relevant experience.
Three to Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

SPECIAL SKILLS
Familiar with engineering principles and equipment for the purpose of tracking and implementing internal changes.
Conduct necessary experimental work to verify concepts.
Statistics familiar with Six Sigma concepts. (Green Belt Preferred)
Working knowledge of manufacturing maintenance and/or production engineering.
