Job Summary
Job Purpose Duties and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for designing implementing controlling and improving assembly and welding processes that enable the safe production and efficient manufacturing of welded assemblies Chassis preparation and finished garbage trucks.
Additionally responsibilities include providing processes and tools design changes and incorporating new technologies to support Manufacturing Quality and EH&S continues improvement process.
This person is also responsible for evaluating existing and transferred tooling troubleshooting and maintain it according to de business needs
Coordinate the fabrication of tools fixtures and material handling equipment and oversees their implementation into production.
Prepare instructions to manufacture check and inspect the products.
Act as liaison engineer between Canada manufacturing and product department with Lafayette production departments purchasing and external suppliers.
Production support. Work actively with production supervisors Quality and EHS supervisor to solve safety quality and efficiency problems related to processes tooling fixtures and material handling equipment.
Develop and submit RFQs to external suppliers for new fixtures templates and material handling equipment. Coordinate engineering changes implementation Qualifications
Education Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical degree
Experience Knowledge of welding fabrication and assembly processes Experience with CAD/Creo/Solid works design tools Experience to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems using problem solving methods and tools.
Specialized knowledge CAD modeling ability
