Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and engaging Mandarin-speaking teacher to provide Mandarin language instruction to children twice per week. The ideal candidate will create a fun immersive and age-appropriate learning environment that encourages students to develop listening speaking reading and cultural awareness skills in Mandarin Chinese.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver interactive Mandarin language lessons for children.
- Introduce students to Mandarin vocabulary pronunciation basic conversation songs games and cultural activities.
- Create a positive supportive and engaging classroom environment.
- Adapt lessons to meet the developmental and learning needs of students.
- Encourage participation and help students build confidence in speaking Mandarin.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents and/or program administrators as needed.
- Prepare lesson materials and classroom activities.
- Maintain classroom organization and ensure student safety at all times.
Qualifications
- Native or fluent Mandarin Chinese speaker.
- Previous experience teaching Mandarin to children preferred.
- Ability to engage young learners through creative hands-on activities.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Reliable punctual and professional.
- Bachelors degree in Education Chinese Language Linguistics or a related field preferred.
- Teaching certification or relevant language teaching experience is a plus.
Desired Skills
- Experience working with young toddlers early preschool and Pre-k.
- Knowledge of age-appropriate language acquisition techniques.
- Enthusiastic patient and nurturing personality.
- Ability to incorporate Chinese culture traditions music and stories into lessons.
