Do you want to help define the future of app development on Apple platforms Join the UI Frameworks team and help shape the APIs and components used by millions of apps across iOS iPadOS and beyond. You will be managing a small team of talented UI Frameworks engineers working across UIKit and SwiftUI. You and your team will be responsible for key areas of both frameworks and their shared underpinnings. Your team will be developing new features and fixing regressions across multiple platforms and releases. You will be involved in feature work and team planning and will also be expected to do some hands-on development. You will work with Swift Platform Experience leadership and the program management team to ensure that your work makes it into the build with a high level of quality. You will keep an eye on system maintainability and performance. You will help create testing tools and procedures that contribute to this endeavor. You will also be a steward of the new APIs and SPIs that are developed. Finally you will be expected to work closely with HI on new designs that are being developed from release to and SwiftUI together power nearly every interface on iPhone iPad Mac and beyond spanning touch handling animation text layout and the high-level components that apps across the Apple ecosystem depend on every day. As part of the UI Frameworks team youll collaborate closely with Human Interface designers and partner frameworks and help deliver the next generation of UI technologies. Youll work side by side with internal teams to create APIs that inspire developers and power incredible experiences. 3 years of hands-on UIKit and/or SwiftUI development experience on Apple platformsnStrong proficiency in Swift (Objective-C familiarity a plus)nDesire to leverage your skills and experience to manage and direct a team of strong engineersnClear communication and collaborative problem-solving skillsnSolid understanding of software development workflows and practicesnSolid understanding of debugging profiling and performance optimization
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experiencenBackground in framework-level rather than application-level developmentnFamiliarity with both UIKit and SwiftUI including their interoperability story (UIHostingController UIViewRepresentable etc.)nKnowledge of UI Frameworks on other platforms (e.g. visionOS Catalyst CarPlay)nManagement experiencen
