Manager Surgical Services (RN)

Location: Fort Walton Beach / Destin FL
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital / Level II Trauma Center (267-bed)
Schedule: Full-Time Days 24-Hour Accountability
Salary: $95000 $112000/Year (Midpoint $105000 for 10 YOE)
Sign-On Bonus: None
Relocation: Case-by-case basis

Position Overview

We are seeking a high-energy and experienced Manager Surgical Services (RN) to lead a busy perioperative department overseeing a 12-OR suite (10 main ORs and 2 CVORs). This leadership role carries 24/7 accountability for clinical operations staffing quality outcomes and surgical throughput within a high-acuity fast-paced trauma environment.

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide 24/7 operational and clinical leadership for surgical services.

  • Oversee staffing scheduling and performance management of 62 FTEs.

  • Coordinate daily surgical schedules with surgeons anesthesia and hospital teams.

  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission state and federal regulatory standards.

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and patient experience enhancement efforts.

  • Monitor surgical throughput and optimize OR efficiency and case flow.

  • Manage equipment readiness maintenance and surgical supply inventory.

  • Conduct staff evaluations mentoring and professional development.

  • Support patient rounding and drive improvements in core quality metrics.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN required; BSN preferred).

  • Active RN license in Florida or Compact state license.

  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

  • Minimum 3 years of recent OR leadership experience (required).

  • Experience in high-volume OR or Level II Trauma Center preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and workflows.

  • Proven leadership communication and operational management skills.
