ABOUT CRADLES TO CRAYONS:
Cradles to Crayons (C2C) founded in 2002 provides children living in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thriveat home at school and at play. We supply clothing shoes diapers school supplies and more free of charge. Our vision is that one day all children will have the essentials they need to thrive.
Two in 5 kids in the United States are currently facing Clothing Insecurity going without basic essentials like pants shoes diapers and school supplies during their critical development years. Three of the top 10 reasons kids miss school are rooted in Clothing Insecurityjust one example of the significant short- and long-term social and economic costs when these needs go unmet. Cradles to Crayons keeps Clothing Insecurity at the core of our mission and is the only large-scale nonprofit organization to focus on this resource gap. Since its founding Cradles to Crayons has distributed more than four million customized packages of essentials to children in Massachusetts Greater Philadelphia Chicagoland and nationally.
Cradles to Crayons takes a two-pronged approach to mitigating Clothing Insecurity:
- In-person Engagementthrough tens of thousands of children and adults volunteering at our Giving Factory warehouses to sort and package high volumes of new and like-new donations from our communities for our Service Partners to distribute to the children they serve.
- Advocacy and AwarenessCradles to Crayons is uniquely positioned to raise Clothing Insecurity as a national issue through awareness campaigns data/evaluation and legislative outreach.
Cradles to Crayons strong financial health and ongoing effectiveness and reliability have helped it earn a Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator every year since 2009. C2C has a budget of $19M for FY27 and a total staff of approximately 100.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position has a flexible base location within any of our three Giving Factory markets-GreaterBoston Chicagoland role is primarily remote but is expected to be in-person in one of our Giving Factories at leastonce a week.
Reporting to theDirector of Digital Marketingthe Social MediaManageris responsible formanaging and growing our presence across various social media platforms creating engaging content and building strong relationships with our rolewill collaborate closely withthe Marketing teamandotherfunctionalteams andcolleaguesto develop and implement social media strategies that align with our brand goals and drive engagementincluding:comprehensivesocialmedia plans; strengthen internal and externalpositioning;work withexternalagencies to expand awareness of C2Csexpertise around childhood and family poverty clothing needs and distribution connecting communities and leading the #EndClothingInsecurity movement across all our work.
All Cradles to Crayons team members contribute to a culture of shared mission byparticipatingin one volunteer shift per month.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Model and lead a positive One Cradlesto Crayons culture underpinned by Cradlesto Crayons Cultural Values and related behaviors.
Manage and execute social media campaigns across platforms (Facebook Instagram LinkedIn Twitter TikTok etc.).
Develop and manage LinkedIn thought leadership content for the CEO and executive leaders.
Manage paid social media campaigns including targeted ads sponsoredpostsand boosted posts to reach new audiences.
Create original content curate and schedule engaging content (text image and video) that aligns with brand voice andobjectives.
Monitor social media channels respond to comments messages and mentionsin a timely mannerto foster community engagement.
Analyze social media metrics and performance using tools such as GoogleAnalyticsHubSpot and provide regular reports tooptimizestrategies.
Ability tomonitorand analyze social sentimentidentifyemerging trends and convert insights into strategic actionable recommendations.
Stay up to date with the latest social media trends tools and best practices to continually improve performance.
Collaborate with marketing design and market teams to create content that drives brand awareness engagement and conversions.
Managea shared content calendar coordinating with cross-functional teams to keep content organized aligned and on schedule.
Assistin the development of social media advertising strategies including creating ad copy and budgets.
Identifyand engage with influencers partners and customers to expand brand reach and engagement.
Helpestablishand implementbest practices andprocesses to supportproject teams/plans/management.
Support increasedlocal regional andnationalengagementpresencebrand awareness and thought leadershipfor Cradles to Crayons and End Clothing Insecurity.
Other responsibilities:
Identifyinternal and external communicationopportunities andchallenges. Work withMarCom team and organizationalleadership and staff to develop and executeappropriate strategiesin support.
Working with theDirector of Digital Marketing andMarCom Director help coordinateexecute and trackaligned social mediaexecution with strategic MarCom campaigns
Ensure that internal and external communications and collateral materials are current effectiveand areconsistent with Cradles toCrayons/#EndClothingInsecuritybrand and messaging.
Working with MarComleadershiphelpdevelop a fundraisingstrategy and goalsforMarComteam and Social Media Manager role.
Required Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Passion for Cradles to Crayons mission
5 years ofdemonstratedexperience managing social media accounts for brands or organizations and developing engaging results-driven organic contentstrategies
Strongunderstanding of major social media platforms and their algorithms
Experience with social media management tools (e.g. HubSpot) analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics Meta Business Suite Insights) and project management systems (e.g. Air Table)
Experience with social media fundraising
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a creative approach to content creation
Ability to multitask prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Basic knowledge of graphic design and video editing tools (e.g. Canva)
A passion for social media trends and digital marketing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Excellent in creative campaigning
Can-do attitude
Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
Non-profit experience a plus
Team player
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The estimated salary range for this position is $68000-$75000 based ongeographiclabor market.
Cradles to Crayons is committed topayequity and uses geographic benchmarks to ensure fair compensation. The compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from the posted range based on geographic location work experience education and/or skill level among other things.
