Job Summary
- Lead motivate and developa team of accounting professionalsby providing coaching training and mentorship through the hiring of top talent.
- Oversee themonth-end closeprocess ensuringdeadlines are metwhile ensuringaccurateandtimelypreparation review and analysis of financial statements.
- Reviewand approvework completedby accounting associates for accuracy and completenessin accordance withestablished policies and procedures.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations Asset Management and other stakeholders to understand business drivers and their impact on financial results
- Drive process optimization and scalabilityidentifyingopportunities to improve efficiency automation and controls in a high-volume environment
- Supportinternaland externalauditrequests includingSOX Compliance Internal Controls and annual financial statementaudits.
- Participate in Company-provided training.
- Performother duties as assigned.
- Bachelorsdegree in accounting or related field is.
- 5 years of experience in accounting and financial statement preparation is. Property Accounting experience is preferred.
- 5 years of supervisory experience is.
- Intermediate Excelexpertise; Yardi experience a plus.
- Experience working with high volumes of data.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Ability to lead and develop a team.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities including the ability toidentifyand implement best practices that improve the teams effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ability to make decisions and drive results.
- Ability to perform advanced mathematical and accounting functions.
- Ability to follow and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to read andcomprehendfinancial statements.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to set and meet goalsandconsistently meet deadlines.
- Mustmaintainprofessional appearance.
