Job Summary
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Plan manage and coordinate the activities of a patient support teamservices or programs of the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinatethe work and activities of assigned staff including setting performance expectations in the day-to-day operations of the shift or unit.
- Monitorperformance andprovidefeedback coaching mentoring and trainingforstaff.
- Respondtoand manageemergencies.
- Provide staff management to including hiring development training performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
- Maintain communication and relationships between medical staff other department staff and leadership team by attending meetings and coordinating interdepartmental functioning in support of the mission and goals of the organization.
- Performday-to-day operational and administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Conduct and administer fiscal operations including planning budgets authorizing expenditures and coordinating financial reporting.
- Prepare activity reports to inform management of the status and implementation plans of programs services and quality initiatives.
- May as determined by staffing or census needs assistpatientwith their daily living activities administer basic health care or treatments participate in therapeutic or recreational group activities.
- Oversee admitting and dischargingofpatient.
- Monitor physical and emotional well-being ofpatientand report unusual behavior or physical ailments to appropriate staff. Prepare and maintain recordsof progressand services performed.
- Lead or co-lead individual or group sessions as part of specific recreationalor therapeutic proceduresas needed.
- Collaborate with other staff in working with the population of the facility to treat rehabilitate and returnpatientto the community.
- Coordinate eventsandactivities of others scheduling programs and activitiesas needed.
- Provide transportation forpatientas needed. May include driving of facility motor vehicle or coordinating transportation with appropriate staff member.
- Demonstrate a positive empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High Schooldiplomaor equivalentrequired.Associatesor Bachelorsdegree in human service field from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Must have served in the role of PatientSupport for the facility for one or moreyears with an additionaltwo or moreyears of experience in a customer support/service role preferably in the health or human services field.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility.
- May require a valid state drivers in facilities where transportingpatientis an essential function.
