TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Manager Handbook. Salary range B: $85470- $100552. Year round position-full time.Hours during summer may vary as determined by District administration.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Fiscal Services is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day business office operations including payroll purchasing accounts receivable benefits and accounts payable. This individual assists with the oversight of the school lunch program and year-end audit. The Manager is responsible for maintaining an efficient office operation by exhibiting proper management of time and materials and good public relations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- Required: Associates degree in accounting business or related field with coursework in accounting
- Preferred: Bachelors degree in accounting business management or related field with coursework in accounting. May consider experience in lieu of education
- Demonstrated Technical Skills:
- Advanced level computer skills using Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel) Google Workspace and other computerized finance systems
- Ability to create manage and troubleshoot formulas and functions in a spreadsheet
- Abilityto quickly learn and support new software
- Proficient in accounting for public school districts in accordance with the Bulletin 1022 Michigan Public School Accounting Manual
- Proficient in fund accounting grant accounting general ledger accounting and bank reconciliations
- Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw logical conclusions
- Experience:
- Preferred: A minimum of three years accounting experience in a Michigan public school district
- Preferred: Experience with MUNIS software
- Public Relations Skills: Ability to relate to school age children parents teachers and members of the community
- Knowledge of accounts payable accounts receivable purchasing payroll and benefits
- Experience with year-end accounting transactions and preparation for year-end audit
- Ability to compile financial data and prepare financial reports
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements and policies
- Possess excellent customer service skills including interpersonal oral and written communication skills skills and the ability to maintain a calm and professional image
- Ability to work with a high degree of detail under the pressure of externally imposed deadlines and with frequentinterruption
- Ability to work with considerable independent judgment and professional knowledge in the areas of fundaccounting accounting principles and general ledger accounting with knowledge of accounts payable accountsreceivable budgeting purchasing payroll benefits and year-end procedures
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness
- Demonstrated knowledge of full general ledger requirements
- Ability to work with an integrated accounting system with a specific understanding of the effects on transactionsand their impact on financial records
- Ability to solve complex problems logically and effectively to work independently to manage multiple tasks anddemonstrate effective time management skills
- Ability to establish rapport and maintain appropriate relationships with students staff and parents
- Possess sound independent judgment including handling of confidential matters
- Ability to adapt to changes in plans or activities on short notice

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Successfully complete district assigned trainings per established deadlines job specific training will be provided as available
- Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

- Oversee day-to-day operations of business office
- Maintain sound internal control policies
- Monitor daily bank balances
- Process payroll transfers
- Oversee online payments
- Assist with State and Federal reporting
- Monitor the general ledger
- Handle general banking issues
- Handle journal entries
- Assist with Preliminary and Yearly audit preparation
- Assist and back up other positions within the business office
- Fine motor skills and ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted to lift and move equipment and supplies
- Able to stand or sit for long periods of time (up to entire shift as tasks require) as well as stoop squat bend crouch reach kneel and climb stairs frequently during the shift
- Able to ride in a vehicle as necessary (e.g. training on occasion)
- Able to work indoors during all seasons/weather/temperatures as permitted
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate effectively via district-assigned email on a daily basis as determined by supervisor
- Accurately complete electronic time sheets and absence reporting via time keeping system per assigned deadlines
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Consistent and reliable performance of job responsibilities
- Perform other job responsibilities deemed appropriate by the supervisor/building administrator and/or Superintendent
