THE ROLE

Our client an acute care hospital system in Houston TX is seeking a full-time permanent Manager of Case Management for the Emergency Department and Observation services. This mid-level leadership role is responsible for directing case management operations across the ED and OBS units with accountability for utilisation management discharge planning and compliance. The role requires on-site presence and does not support remote work arrangements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and oversee case management operations across the Emergency Department and Observation units
  • Lead utilisation management discharge planning and cost/quality management initiatives
  • Supervise mentor and develop case management staff within the ED and OBS departments
  • Collaborate with emergency physicians nursing staff social work and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and alignment with hospital quality standards

REQUIREMENTS

Must-Have

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse licence in the state of Texas OR Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) - LCSW preferred; Case Manager Certification required
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) - LCSW preferred; Case Manager Certification required
  • Case Manager Certification (CCM or ACMA) - required
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in utilisation management case management or discharge planning
  • Minimum three (3) years demonstrated leadership experience AND three (3) years experience in hospital-based nursing or social work

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • LCSW licensure
  • Experience in emergency department or observation unit case management
