Founded in 1910 Dignity Health - Mercy Hospital is a 229-bed acute care nonprofit hospital located in Bakersfield California. Serving nearly 90000 patients annually the hospital offers a full complement of services including Level II NICU cancer care womens health and orthopedics. Additionally Mercy Hospital Downtown & Mercy Hospital Southwest have been recognized as an LGBTQ Healthcare Equality High Performer by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. They are both Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Centers. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Nursing Manager you will be a dynamic leader guiding and empowering our nursing team to deliver exceptional patient-centered care through continuous growth and operational excellence.

Every day you will lead and mentor Registered Nurses oversee clinical operations and advocate for patient and team needs driving professional development and achieving unit goals.

To be successful in this role you will embody accountability and confidence with superior communication skills for all interactions. Youll skillfully navigate challenges ensuring individual performance and overall unit success.
  • Schedules nursing staff to specific shifts taking into account past utilization trends. Measures employee performance. Assists in the training of new staff members and the development of existing staff members.
  • Coordinates the activities of the unit during a particular shift and directs organizes and assigns work to the nursing staff.
  • Assesses monitors and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Provides nursing care to patients on an as needed basis.
Job Requirements
Required
  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing or equivalent education and experience. upon hire and
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and
  • one (1) year of leadership experience.
  • Registered Nurse: CA upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR upon hire
