Are you an experienced RN with a passion for leadership and a drive to make a broader impact Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a motivated and dedicated RN Manager Nursing and Patient Care Services to oversee and guide the daily operations of one or more clinical areas within our nationally recognized healthcare system.

As the Manager of Nursing and Patient Care Services youll be responsible for ensuring the smooth effective and compassionate delivery of care within your designated clinical areas. Youll lead by examplemodeling best practices promoting collaboration and driving performance aligned with Sentaras mission of safety quality and patient-centered service.

This manager would be responsible for Patient Care Supervisors Bed Tower 24/7 Observation Unit Transition Unit Transition to Home/Discharge Lounge and Telemetry covering about 80-100 FTEs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of assigned units or departments

• Foster a high-performing nursing team through coaching mentorship and support

• Ensure compliance with safety quality and regulatory standards

• Collaborate with physicians leaders and staff to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction

• Promote professional development and a positive inclusive work environment

Required Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state

• Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN)

• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in a hospital or acute care setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior leadership or charge nurse experience

• Critical Care Experience

• Strong communication organizational and decision-making skills

• Masters degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration (a plus)

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital located in Norfolk VA is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
