Job Description

Manages University mechanical systems ensuring that equipment is maintained & operating in a safe & efficient manner. Supervises & directs Plumbing HVAC & Preventative Maintenance shops in the completion of assigned tasks & responsibilities. Ensures & documents productivity of staff & contractors in repair & maintenance of University systems.

This position is designated as essential personnel and may be required to work during closings or emergency situations.

Required Qualifications

A thorough knowledge of commercial industrial and residential mechanical systems plumber/steamfitter trade and/or HVAC trade.
Ability to read and analyze mechanical and piping drawings.
Ability to supervise and manage staff and contract crews.
A thorough knowledge of fire suppression systems and HVAC equipment.
Computer and word processing skills are essential.
Ability to develop estimates and perform take-offs from drawings.
Familiarity with building codes.
Experience with building automation systems.
Must have a valid drivers license.
Must hold or have the ability to obtain a state license in Plumbing and/or HVAC within 12 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

State licensure in Plumbing and/or HVAC preferred.
