The Role

The Customer Onboarding team part of Blocks Financial Crimes organization protects Blocks ecosystem through the protocols that govern secure customer onboarding ongoing monitoring and EDD and compliant account restoration. As an enterprise role the KYC Due Diligence Policy and Strategy Manager sets KYC policy and strategy for Block Inc. as a whole spanning Square Cash App TIDAL and other business lines combining policy expertise with practical implementation to strengthen KYC processes with particular emphasis on identity verification and EDD.

You Will
  • Lead the development review and maintenance of enterprise KYC policies standards supplementary guidance and exception requests
  • Monitor regulatory change assess impact on existing KYC frameworks and keep global standards aligned with local requirements
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement KYC requirements and advise compliance technology teams on the policy requirements shaping KYC solutions
  • Define policy requirements guardrails and validation criteria for AI/ML-driven risk-based segmentation and identity verification and advise where automation is and isnt appropriate for KYC decisioning
  • Monitor KYC metrics and program performance to assess effectiveness enhance controls and identify process improvements
  • Serve as subject matter expert to business units and to legal audit and risk partners; participate in governance forums and support regulatory examinations and internal audits
  • Identify escalate and help remediate KYC compliance risks including those specific to AI/automation such as model drift bias false positives/negatives and explainability gaps
You Have
  • 10 years in BSA/AML/KYC compliance or compliance operations at a financial services firm preferably payments or fintech
  • A track record of influencing enterprise-wide compliance programs and advising executive leadership on complex regulatory matters
  • Strong knowledge of compliance regulations risks and typologies paired with an analytical metrics-driven approach to building substantiated solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the organizational skills to manage competing priorities in an agile fast-paced environment
  • The ability to execute independently and at a high level while working effectively with team members at all levels
  • Demonstrated AI fluency: framing ambiguous compliance problems for AI critically evaluating outputs for gaps bias or risk and using AI to accelerate execution without compromising quality or compliance standards
  • Preferred: experience engaging federal or international banking regulators relevant certifications (CAMS CFE CFCS CRCM) and exposure to AI/ML-driven compliance or risk-decisioning tools
