Overview

Thisnewrole will involve working collaboratively withCypressAsset Managementdivisiontomanageenvironmental complianceandact as a subject matter expertforoperating facility assetsandconstructedprojectsentering thecompanys fleet.Thesuccessful candidatewilldriveregulatory compliance for a large portfolio of construction and permanent stormwater and stabilization permitsfocusedprimarilyonoperating assets inthe Southeast region.Thesuccessful candidatewill have akey roleincontributing todevelopment ofan asset management environmental complianceandpermittrackingprocess conducting a fleet-widepermit inventory review within the first60 days.The successful candidate will be able to engageinternalteamsandregulatory agenciesinpermitting strategiesprovidekey input to senior leadership to support joint decision making and reduceenvironmental compliance risk.We are looking for a team member able to hit the ground running whothrives ina dynamicsolutions-driven environmentbalancingregulatory rigor with operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage required environmentalpermitcomplianceandobligations for fleet operationsacrossallU.S. marketsto ensure full regulatory compliance and uninterrupted business activities.
  • onstatusand evidenceof coveragecompleteness of permit recordsandsite-specific actions neededto addressgaps incomplianceordocumentation.
  • Lead federal andstateregulatory agency communication and internal and legal review.
  • Lead internal team coordination for developing site-specificstormwater and site stabilizationpermitting and compliance strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance teamfor loggingtrackingandmaintainingrecords of permit coverageregistrationsinspections and audits.
  • Develop presentation slide decks and other materials for reporting to leadership.
  • Serve as the receiving AM environmental SME ensuring a clear handoff from our EPCM team the EPC contractor and our development-stage environmental SME.
  • Review plans for management of environmentalobligationsfor construction close-out and operations. Plans include but are not limited to stormwater management plans spill pollution prevention plans construction oversight plans for compliance with respect towetlandbiologicalandarchaeologicalculturalresourcesetbacks species avoidance areas andvegetation removaltimingrestrictions.
  • Advise in development and implementation of programmatic procedures andbest practicesto ensure continuous compliance with existingand evolvingnational and localenvironmental regulations.
  • Establish protocol and cadence for site-specific SWPPP inspections and quarterly permit audits. Manage environmental compliance site inspection workflow.
  • Assistin development of protocols to manage ongoingobligationcompliancereporting and registration renewalrequirements duringasset management. Advise on issuesasneeded.
  • Review technical reportsdrawings and preparing technicaldeliverablesand engage with other SME groups such as engineering to support technical reviews of consultant-prepared materials.
  • Prepare andsubmitregistrations/NOIs/NOTs as needed.
  • Advise asset managers and field technicians on environmentalresource concerns and permitting requirements as requested.

Education & Experience Required

  • Preferred certifications: CPESC CESSWI
  • Experience with SWPPP inspections or filing registrations/NOIs/NOTs
  • Experience developing processes or best management practices forregulatoryauditsor environmental compliance programs.
  • Understanding ofpermit compliance requirements in relation to Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts.
  • Exceptionalrecordkeepingskills.
  • Ability for travel(less than 20%)to operational sitesoragency meetingswhenneeded and scheduled in advance

Location: The position is open to our office locations in Asheville NC and Durham NC. Our team operates on a hybrid schedule with in-office schedule of three days per week. Remote candidates will also be considered.

Compensation: The salary range for the position is $100000 - $120000 plus bonus and benefits. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors including a candidates qualifications skills competencies and experience and location.
