During the Oracle Fusion Cloud transformation the Manager is accountable for the quality timeliness and technical soundness of the Universitys delivery work: configuration and functional design data conversion integration development reporting and analytics and extensions. The Manager assigns and balances team capacity against project demand in coordination with the Senior Project Manager Enterprise Systems who owns the integrated project plan and schedule.
Following go-live of each Oracle Fusion pillar the Manager Enterprise Systems assumes steady-state ownership of the platform and the broader cloud enterprise systems portfolio. The position is responsible for the performance reliability security and continuous optimization of these systems; for the coordination of Drivestream Application Managed Services (AMS) and other ongoing vendor relationships; and for the technical roadmap of the portfolio as it matures. The Manager works closely with the Enterprise Systems Architect the functional pillar leads and Information Security to ensure that Midwestern Universitys cloud platforms continue to serve the institutions mission and strategic priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Supervision
Supervise the functional analysts supporting the HCM Finance/EPM Financial Aid and Student pillars and the technical analysts responsible for integrations conversions reporting and custom development
Assign work set priorities and manage the performance and professional development of direct reports including hiring onboarding coaching performance evaluation and succession planning
Balance team capacity across implementation projects ancillary system remediation and production support in coordination with the Senior Project Manager Enterprise Systems
Foster a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement within the ITS team supporting cloud enterprise systems
Build and maintain the teams Oracle Fusion Cloud skill base including Drivestream Academy participation certification paths and cross-training that reduces single points of knowledge
Solution Delivery and Technical Analysis
Direct the Universitys functional and technical delivery work across the Oracle Fusion pillars including configuration functional design data conversion integration development reporting and extensions
Review and approve technical designs integration specifications conversion mappings and configuration decisions for adherence to institutional standards and to the target architecture
Oversee the analysis and delivery of technical changes to ancillary systems and integrations affected by the new General Ledger Chart of Accounts structure including Epic Jaggaer Transact/IDX and Vetspire in support of project plans maintained by the Senior Project Manager
Direct the teams work on the Universitys integration estate ensuring that interfaces between cloud enterprise systems and clinical academic and auxiliary applications are documented monitored and maintainable
Ensure that unit system and user acceptance testing are executed with appropriate rigor and that defects are tracked to resolution
Establish and enforce standards for documentation source control migration and release management across the portfolio
Post-Implementation Operations and Optimization
Lead the transition from implementation to HyperCare and AMS for each pillar ensuring operational readiness knowledge transfer to the ITS team and a clean hand-off of production support responsibilities
Manage the ongoing performance reliability and continuous optimization of Oracle Fusion Cloud and other cloud enterprise systems including quarterly Oracle updates AMS quarterly optimization visits and planned enhancement cycles
Own production support for the cloud enterprise systems portfolio including incident response root cause analysis service level performance and escalation to Oracle and Drivestream
Partner with the Enterprise Systems Architect the FDI Functional Owner and the FDI Technical Owner to ensure that cloud platform changes preserve data integrity integration stability and institutional reporting
Maintain a forward-looking technical roadmap of enhancements optimization opportunities and future cloud enterprise systems capabilities aligned with Midwestern Universitys strategic plan and refer initiatives requiring project structure to the Senior Project Manager Enterprise Systems
Vendor and Partner Management
Manage the ongoing operational relationship with Drivestream Inc. for Application Managed Services including work intake prioritization quality and consumption of AMS hours
Coordinate with Oracle Corporation through the Oracle Customer Success Manager on platform matters service requests and release readiness
Coordinate ancillary vendor relationships that support the cloud enterprise systems portfolio including integration partners reporting and analytics vendors and third-party service providers
Monitor ongoing vendor performance against service-level commitments and contractual obligations and recommend renewal expansion or remediation
Data Governance Security and Compliance
Partner with the Enterprise Systems Architect Information Security and Institutional Research to implement and enforce data governance access management and audit practices across cloud enterprise systems
Own role design segregation of duties and periodic access review for the Oracle Fusion Cloud environment in partnership with the functional pillar owners and Internal Audit
Ensure that cloud enterprise systems operations comply with applicable regulatory contractual and institutional requirements including FERPA GLBA HIPAA Title IV and Midwestern University IT and security standards
Support internal and external audit requests including evidence production and remediation of identified findings
Governance and Stakeholder Engagement
Participate in the Program Leadership Team and support the Program Lead in the operation of the three-tier governance framework including the Executive Governance Committee Program Leadership Team and Pillar Working Groups
Collaborate with pillar executives working group leads and subject matter experts to translate business priorities into prioritized cloud enterprise systems work
Represent Midwestern University in HESS Collective working group sessions Oracle user groups and other peer forums as appropriate
Budget Procurement and Contract Administration
Support the AVP of ITS Applications in the development monitoring and reforecasting of ongoing operating budgets for cloud enterprise systems
Coordinate procurement activities related to cloud enterprise systems operations including software subscriptions managed services and integration tooling in partnership with University procurement and legal functions
Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree is required preferably in computer science information technology management information systems or a related field from an accredited institution. Masters degree preferred. Minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise applications including at least two years directing functional and technical information technology teams. Demonstrated responsibility for enterprise system delivery integration development production support operations and managed services or vendor oversight is required. Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud Workday or comparable enterprise cloud platforms strongly preferred. Higher education experience preferred.
