Manager, Data Reporting and School Support

Job Summary
At Uncommon Schools strong operational systems and accurate data help ensure every student has access to an excellent education. The Manager Data Reporting and School Support plays a critical role in supporting our Boston schools by overseeing student and teacher data state reporting compliance processes and operational projects that keep schools running effectively. This role partners closely with school-based operations teams regional leaders Home Office teams and external agencies to maintain data integrity support regulatory requirements and coordinate key operational initiatives throughout the school year. The ideal candidate is highly organized analytical and enjoys improving systems and supporting others through collaborative problem-solving.
Responsibilities
Data Reporting & Compliance
- Manage student and teacher data to support local state and federal reporting requirements.
- Oversee state reporting for Massachusetts DESE data collections ensuring reports are accurate and submitted on time.
- Maintain data integrity by conducting audits resolving discrepancies and partnering with school teams and Home Office partners to improve data quality.
- Respond to regional and state requests for data and support data analysis needs.
- Maintain the regional compliance calendar to ensure all required deadlines are met.
School Operations Support
- Serve as the regional lead for teacher certification processes including monitoring certification records supporting compliance and training school operations staff on certification requirements.
- Monitor student enrollment records and manage student ID number transfers.
- Support school operations teams by maintaining documentation resources and operational guidance related to state compliance.
- Provide day-to-day operational support related to student information systems school nutrition billing and other regional operational processes.
Financial & Program Administration
- Manage purchasing invoicing and expense reporting for School Support budgeted items while partnering with Home Office accounting teams to ensure timely payment of vendors.
- Administer monthly National School Lunch Program (NSLP) reimbursement reporting.
- Coordinate monthly meal data collection and quarterly direct certification processes.
- Conduct annual NSLP compliance observations and provide feedback and training to school teams.
Assessment & Regional Project Coordination
- Coordinate logistics for state and federal testing including exam administration scoring activities and district partnerships.
- Partner with the Curriculum and Assessment team to adapt assessment logistics for Boston schools.
- Support regional operational initiatives school events and peak operational periods through project management and coordination.
- Assist with regional emergency preparedness initiatives and maintain shared operational resources for school teams.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the regional office including technology coordination office logistics space reservations and hospitality.
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in data management school operations compliance project management or a related field.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office including Excel.
- Demonstrated customer service mindset and ability to build collaborative working relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Commitment to Uncommon Schools mission of preparing every student for college and beyond.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using PowerSchool or another student information system.
- Familiarity with Massachusetts DESE data collection platforms.
- Experience working with education data compliance reporting or school operations.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.

Compensation:
The full compensation range for this role is $88600-$104200.
Typically new hires who fully meet the qualifications and experience expectations for the role will start at or near $91200.
Starting compensation below this reflects candidates with less experience or qualifications. Offers near the top end of the range are reserved for candidates who significantly exceed the qualifications bringing extensive experience and specialized expertise beyond what is listed.
Compensation determinations consider relevant experience and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Additionally because we value internal growth and tenure current staff members are not subject to salary caps within this range.
Work Environment
Uncommon is an in-person organization with a commitment of at least three days each week at our Boston Office.
