Manager, Compliance

Purpose

The Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) Strategic Execution and Initiatives Manager helps OEC leadership understand and effectuate global OEC strategy by connecting Compliance Program Effectiveness elements risk-based priorities and cross-functional activity into a coherent actionable point of view. Acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to OEC leadership centered on substantive strategic and program judgment this role stays closely connected to OECs priorities decisions and emerging risks in order to identify shape and drive strategic projects per year that advance the OEC program. The responsibilities that support this work including project management stakeholder engagement and operational support across OEC are set out below.

Responsibilities

• Defining and executing on a progressive strategy to advance AbbVies OEC program including managing a current cross-functional view of OEC priorities decisions and risk signals attending and contributing to critical OEC meetings application of industry trends and data analyses and uses that perspective to identify propose and lead select strategic projects per year that advance the OEC program.
• Understands the elements of Compliance Program Effectiveness and how they inform OEC priorities using that understanding to help translate OEC strategy into actionable initiatives and to flag candidate strategic projects for leadership consideration.
• Partners effectively with all levels of key OEC stakeholders to assess support needs related to OEC initiatives provide support advocate for escalation and support continued momentum using available communication channels where prioritized. Identifies overlapping responsibilities supporting the integration of risk assessment results into project plans where applicable.
• Creates manages and executes project plans as well as develops related project materials (e.g. presentations draft deliverables implementation plans etc.) for prioritized projects necessary to execute on our OEC operational excellence framework and key strategic projects revising as appropriate to meet changing needs.
• Conducts compliance risk assessments trend analyses and provides recommendations for compliant and best practice business activities including supporting the operationalization of OECs risk assessment process.
• Identifies delivers and presents on OEC-related risks and issues to management with proactive recommendations on addressing and mitigating the issues -- coordinating change management activities needed to embed project outcomes and motivating action at all levels successfully encourages and leads teams to a specified goal.
• Supports innovation and drives efficiencies and consistency in our approach to OEC risk analytics and operational excellence.
• Manages OEC development initiatives such as coordination mentoring programs equitable distribution of conference opportunities and tracking of colleague accomplishments/awards.
• Supports the drafting coordination and finalization of critical compliance reporting materials including GCIF and Board-facing materials.

Qualifications :

• BA/BS required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with or exposure to business functions such as compliance legal audit finance and regulatory affairs including exposure to compliance program strategy risk assessment or program effectiveness concepts.
• Builds strong relationships with colleagues peers and cross functional partners outside of team to enable higher performance and to serve as a trusted credible sounding board across OEC.
• Leadership strategic thinking organization analytic project management and team-building skills.
• Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative and sound judgment learn quickly identify essential issues and change course when needed.
• Highly organized with excellent oral and written communication skills technical skills and Word Excel PowerPoint.
• Attention to proofreading and editing skills strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Change agile and the ability to adjust strategy based on the evolving business.
• An inquisitive open-minded approach and the ability to guide without bias toward solutions that support an efficient and effective compliance program.
• Strong ability to synthesize information across OEC functions connect program details to OEC strategy and priorities determine what should be communicated for different objectives and audiences and translate that judgment into effective deliverables.
• Working knowledge of Compliance Program Effectiveness elements and how they translate into OEC priorities and candidate strategic projects.
• Comfort operating in a Chief of Staff-type capacity focused on strategic and program judgment including building the relationships and meeting presence needed to stay informed of OEC priorities and decisions.

• The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
