Job Summary
The Manager Business & Project Management Office (BPMO) plays a critical role within AbbVies Business Technology Solutions Information Research (IR) Team leading cross-functional delivery process optimization annual planning and supporting reporting resource management and project management office activities within the BPMO team. This role is responsible for driving alignment across stakeholders to help support continuous improvement of processes planning tools and standards that strengthen IRs operational performance and value delivery.
Responsibilities:Â
- Drive end-to-end delivery of cross-functional initiatives within IR ensuring alignment to stakeholders scope timelines budget and quality expectations.Â
- Identify design and implement process improvements across BPMO and IR workflows tools and standards to enhance operational efficiency and consistency. Â
- Lead IR annual planning processes (e.g. Long-Range Plan Capital Plan) ensuring initiatives and funding support IR strategic priorities.Â
- Provide accurate timely reporting and insights to IR leadership enabling data-driven decision-making and transparent communication.  Effectively leverage established PPM practices and tools (e.g. Clarity Jira).  Â
- Support and partner with resource management reporting and project management team leads as necessary.Â
- Drive communication adoption and change management strategies to support successful implementation of BPMO activities across IR. Â
- Provide internal operational coaching and consultation to IR colleagues.  Â
- Establish and maintain strategic level working relationships with all levels in IR Finance and selected external partners and suppliers.Â
- Represents IR by promoting AbbVie BTSs strategic vision operating tenants and strategic imperatives.Â
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.Â
Key Stakeholders: Support and collaborate with IR BPMO leads IR Operations leads IR Subdomain & Pillar leads Business Technology Solutions R&D Finance leads Strategic Vendor leads.
Qualifications :
Required:
- Bachelors degree in a scientific or business field with 7 years experience; Masters degree with 6 years experience; PhD with 2 years experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management business systems analysis software deployment or PMO administration.
- Experience leading in a multitask environment as well as in a virtual and matrix organization; operating within broad goals and objectives.Â
- Excellent cross-functional negotiating skills and multi-faceted operational skills.Â
- Proven ability to establish and maintain high-quality relationships with all levels across the company and with external partners.Â
- Strong interpersonal collaboration and communication (written and verbal) skills.Â
- Demonstrated ability to articulate and negotiate projects and priorities across functions and/or organizations proven experience in situations of conflict resolution problem solving and crisis management.Â
- Operate with a big picture perspective balancing efficiency in task-execution with effectiveness to deliver on enterprise objectives.Â
Preferred:
- Strong/demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations i.e. FDA and European Union and their impact to organization processes and technology tools.Â
- Vendor contracting/strategy experience.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.Â

This job is eligible to participate in our long-term incentive programs.Â
