About ThedaCare!

Summary :
Assumes responsibility for operational oversight of FDA MQSA and ACR compliance and accreditation all North region mammography facilities. Provides modality-specific education and leadership while standardizing departmental policies procedures and operations process across the health system to promote consistency quality compliance and operation efficiency. Works in conjunction with radiologists physicists and others to explore develop/improve procedures guidelines and protocols. Preceptor to all mammography personnel.

Job Description:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Demonstrates high-level knowledge for FDA and ACR regulations and department established protocols.
  • Ensures each regulatory compliance and quality assurance for system equipment Technologists and result reporting.
  • Review of daily weekly monthly and annual quality control tests on mammography machines monitors and image receptors.
  • Establish review and revise system-wide modality-specific standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain strict regulatory compliance by updating and verifying personnel records quality control logs and medical audits in preparation for federal inspections.
  • Actively participates in on-site inspections by accreditation agencies serving as technical resource for inspectors.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Technologists and Radiologists as needed.
  • Provides a positive environment for or involving co-workers students residents providers and new staff.
  • Evaluates educational needs of new and current department staff as well as other clinical and support personnel.
  • Reviews image audits with department leads.
  • Regularly monitors and manages imaging quality issues with regard to technologist performance providing constructive feedback assistance.
  • Assists manager with interview process of candidates for open positions.
  • Orients new staff and current staff to equipment operating protocols and new or revised procedures while maintaining a positive teaching environment for co-workers students residents providers and new staff.
  • Performs all Mammography Technologist job duties as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
  • American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Wisconsin License
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience as a Mammography Technologist or combination technologist/Breast Sonographer is required.
  • MQSA inspection experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to move freely (standing stooping walking bending pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance
  • Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Clinical Patient Facing:

  • Normally works in climate-controlled office environment
  • Frequent sitting with movement throughout office space
  • Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
  • Occasional high noise level in work environment.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases hazardous materials and pharmacological agents.
  • Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients.
  • Use of computers throughout work day
  • Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands wrist and fingers
