Summary

Duties
  • You will determine the nature and extent of repairs necessary.
  • You will operate trade specific hand and power tools.
  • You will possess sufficient knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations.
  • You will read and interpret blueprints diagrams sketches and technical specifications.
  • You will perform multi-skilled maintenance and repair for the upkeep of facilities.
  • You will possess thorough knowledge of general carpentry electrical and plumbing and general grounds preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to perform the job without more than normal supervision: 1) Determining the nature and extent of repairs necessary; 2) Operating trade specific hand and power tools; 3) Sufficient knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations; and 4) Reading and interpreting blueprints diagrams sketches and technical specifications.
