Job Summary
We are seeking aForklift & Utility Mechanic Helper to support ourLa Porte TXfacility. The role maintains golf carts and other small machinery and maintains mechanical equipment fluid levels to support the business. Utilizes a general knowledge of mechanical methods and techniques.
Must have demonstrated experience independently diagnosing troubleshooting and repairing golf carts forklifts ATVs/UTVs utility vehicles and other small equipment including mechanical hydraulic and 12V/24V electrical systems.
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Work schedule and hourly pay are governed by the union contract.
Work Schedule (per CBA): Shiftwork schedule (4-12HR day shifts 4 days off/on-call 4-12HR hour day shifts 4 days off/off-call)
Hourly Wage (per CBA): $34.45/HR; Additional earnings may include overtime opportunities and other benefits outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Perform PMs on a variety of different equipment
- Makes required repairs and adjustments to equipment fluid levels
- Be able to make necessary repairs to carts and buggies and small IE: engine replacement brakes etc.
- Be able to diagnose electrical systems on carts buggies and small engines
- Fuels equipment twice per shift
- Able to perform repairs on golf carts/buggies and other equipment as needed
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment
- Maintains tools to be operational
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
Qualifications
What does it take to work at Clean Harbors
- 3 years maintenance experience in a heady industrial environment
- Must pass the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test II
- Able to perform repairs and diagnose electrical systems on golf carts/buggies and small engines
- Must understand schematics to troubleshoot 12&24v systems
- Must be flexible to change direction at a moments notice
- Ability to meet physical demands of the position including movements such as lifting bending climbing and manipulating and handling of objects.
- Computer literate
HS Diploma or equivalent
