Job Summary
The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician who is a team player and enjoys providing top notch hospitality. This is a perfect opportunity for a candidate with limited experience but who would like to learn hotel operations and grow with a career in hospitality.
The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump is a flagship property of Shamin Hotels Central Virginias largest hotel management company. We have tripled in size to 78 full- and select-service hotels over the past ten years and own and operate hotels under the Hilton Hyatt Marriott InterContinental and Choice flags.

The ideal candidate will be available to work a flexible full-time schedule that includes week days and some weekends. We are open 24/7/365 days a year so you must also be able to work some holidays. We have a team environment so a positive attitude and friendly demeanor is required.
Job Duties:
- Maintain properties performing minor and routine painting plumbing electrical wiring and other related maintenance activities using hand tools.
- Replace AC filters.
- Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting heating and ventilating equipment.
- Tend furnace air-conditioner and boiler equipment andmaintain other equipment with standard preventative maintenance procedures.
- Maintain records on all equipment maintenance and repair.
- Maintain files of Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Maintain superior quality of appearance of interior and exterior of hotel to Hilton and Shamin Hotels standards.
- Repair wallpaper carpet sheetrock and doors of hotel.
- Keep an orderly and well-stocked inventory of finishing supplies.
- Check operation of all guest room equipment.
- Inspect and repair minor problems in common areas.
- Learn and communicate emergency procedures.
- Be responsible for safe operation of all equipment chemicals and lockout procedures.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Strong English language skills including the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work well in stressful high-pressure situations including the ability to handle guest complaints and disputes while resolving them.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under be respectful and maintain a calm demeanor.
- Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to anticipate prevent and solving problems.
- Good communications skills including the ability to listen to understand and clarify concerns raised by guests and fellow associates.
- Must be able to work with a myriad of personalities and levels within and outside the hotel.
- Ability to stand up to 8 hours
- Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.
