This position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor in Wooster. As of March 1 2026 we have transitioned to a 24/7 rotation with a 4:3 schedule. Must be able to work within that schedule. Night shift will be SUMMARYThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for the timely effective and efficient repair and maintenance of all equipment plumbing and electrical service to the building and surrounding property. Maintenance technician will assist and take direction from the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all areas of responsibility run efficientlyESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be safety and safety awareness by keeping the work area clean wearing safety glasses and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly handling tools machinery and equipment and following posted safety and security procedures; must respond quickly to emergencies in order to prevent injury and damage to personnel and equipment; ensure standard operating procedures are followed monitored; ensure adherence to company policy and repairs and preventative maintenance on plant systems and mechanical equipment as skill level dictates using diagrams sketches manuals and manufacturers specifications (i.e. motors pneumatic tools conveyor systems production equipment); furnish tools supplies and parts as needed for proper repair to ensure the safe and efficient use of all equipment; safely operate and maintain the proper working condition of tools equipment and machinery; lubricate and clean minor electrical repairs such as replacing fuses switches solenoids and gates; troubleshoot electrical problems with the use of a voltmeter/amp meter or other instruments to test components check amperage etc.; inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules calipers micrometers and other measuring devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists cranes hand tools and power tools; repair and/or replace defective up and operate lathes drill presses grinders horizontal band saws end mills vertical band saws pipe threaders and other metalworking tools to maintain or repair parts and mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to diagnose machine malfunction; determine need for adjustment or repair; use operating and diagnostic touch screens and menus on coating machines and other equipment to monitor conditions check settings or troubleshoot problem conditions; start or operate equipment to test its performance or troubleshoot mechanical and electrical and maintain Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) functions utilizing visual and electronic displays; maintain RTO log and Fault log; troubleshoot and maintain plant dust collectors and bag houses; troubleshoot and maintain plant vacuum material delivery systems; troubleshoot and repair gas and heat systems for production ovens; troubleshoot operate and maintain cooling tower; maintain boiler software programs such as Step Seven RS Logix RS Linx and others to diagnose and troubleshoot common problems with PLCs equipment displays communications etc.; Utilize and update Maintenance Work Order System on a timely basis; maintain accurate inventory of spare parts and Lean Sigma initiative by actively participating and supporting Kaizen Events; ensure 5S is completed according to schedule; perform daily housekeeping in work area according to schedule and other duties as school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or trainingCrane Certification Forklift/Hand Truck Certification and Lean Sigma Training To perform the job successfully an individual should be aligned with our company values and demonstrate the following competencies:Do Whats RightSafety: Safety is our priority and everyones responsibility.
