Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining troubleshooting and repairing production equipment to support safe efficient and reliable manufacturing operations. This role helps minimize downtime by performing preventative maintenance responding to equipment issues and working closely with production and maintenance teams to keep equipment operating effectively and in compliance with company safety and quality standards.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Installing repairing and servicing electrical systems.
  • Sourcing or fabricating replacement electrical components.
  • Installs repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
  • Determines changes in parts requirements by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
  • Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
  • Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or similar.
  • Relevant license or certification.
  • A valid drivers license.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician (preferably in Manufacturing).
  • Experience with power tools and other equipment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills
  • Firm grasp of health and safety codes.
  • Patience when teaching apprentices.
  • Superb Customer Service.
  • Strong Attention to Details

Working conditions

  • Safety Standards:
    • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including helmets gloves and safety goggles.
    • Regular safety drills including fire and emergency evacuation procedures.
    • Clearly marked emergency exits and first aid stations.
  • Work Environment:
    • The role may require standing for extended periods walking around the facility squatting and occasionally lifting or moving heavy objects
    • Well-ventilated and adequately lit workspaces.
    • Working in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse can involve exposure to extreme temperatures
