About New Castle Correctional Facility:
New Castle Correctional Facility is a multilevel security facility in in New Castle Indiana with a capacity of 3200 incarcerated adult males. It is the first DOCowned privately managedcorrectional facilityin Indiana and has beenoperatedby The GEO Group since 2005. The facility houses incarcerated individuals across security levels 1-4 including those with special needs and maximumsecurity classifications. Incarcerated individuals have access to medical care educational services therapeutic programming and vocational training. Staff support a rehabilitative approach that promotes accountability and growth. Partnerships help ensure individuals receive services tailored to their needs. Role Overview:
As a Maintenance Technician at the New Castle Correctional Facility (NCF) youll support daily repair and preventive maintenance in plumbing electrical HVAC carpentry and grounds. This Monday-Friday role offers steady day shift hours from 7am to 3pm strong safety practices and a broad range of handson experience. NCF is unique in its onsite steam plant/boiler operations giving you the chance to learn specialized skills beyond standard maintenance duties. Youll also supervise incarcerated individuals on assigned tasks ensuring safe and professional work completion.

Salary:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $42900.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. Depending on the retirement plan you choose the total compensation value of a $42900.00 salary including the States retirement contributions can reach approximately $69822.98. The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Solicit cost estimates or cost proposals.
- Estimate costs and work hours for maintenance projects.
- Oversee and participates in preventive maintenance and repairs of facilities
- Maintain accountability of materials tools equipment and vehicles.
- Ensure compliance of self and assigned personnel with all appropriate protective and safety requirements
- Recruit select onboard and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
- Set expectations measure progress provide ongoing feedback and evaluate the performance of employees. Ensure work adheres to quality standards deadlines and proper procedures.
- Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s) is an essential function of this position.

Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:
- Broad knowledge of electrical systems carpentry plumbing and painting trades.
- Ability to plan schedule and supervise job sites.
- Ability to fill in for other foreman to ensure the operation of the department.
- Ability to read analyze and interpret blueprints and other remediation plans and documents.
- Thorough knowledge of standard practices processes materials procedures and the ability to use tools and equipment of the various trades such as carpentry plumbing and electrical.
- Thorough knowledge of the OSHA standards Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) occupational hazards and safety precautions required of the various trade areas.
- Ability to plan and estimate project proposals in terms of equipment man hours and costs.
- Ability to endure exposure to inclement weather.
- Ability to delegate work set clear direction and manage workflow.
- Ability to effectively give feedback provide guidance or corrective action coach and develop employee skillsets.
- Must have and maintain a valid Drivers License.
