The Maintenance Technician is a key contributor in supporting a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties to care for optimize and repair equipment machinery and facilities at Airgas USA LLC. This role helps foster the safe and efficient operation of plant assets.
Responsibilities
Support and care for preventative maintenance on production equipment including motors pumps compressors valves and electrical systems.
Investigate understand and resolve mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic operational opportunities on various industrial machinery.
Help restore and update defective parts components and systems.
Apply technical tools power equipment and precision measuring instruments to maintain system health.
Read interpret and learn from blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
Partner with the team on the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Document maintenance activities repairs and parts used in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to support shared team knowledge.
Foster and champion a culture of safety following company policies and environmental standards.
Share in on-call coverage and support the team during emergency breakdowns as needed.
Contribute to maintaining a safe clean and organized work environment.
Partner closely with production teams to minimize downtime build alignment and optimize overall equipment performance.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
2 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a similar role
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical electrical (up to 480V) pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics P&IDs and mechanical drawings.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various physical positions.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance Electro-Mechanical Technology or a related field
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial gas environment.
Experience with PLCs and motor controls
Basic welding and fabrication skills
