Job Summary
Performs any such duties deemed consistent with the general maintenance of a healthcare facility or commercial physical plant facility and associated properties.
Job Specifications/Qualifications
Possess a State Boiler Operators License or be able to secure such licensing after 30 days on the job.
Five years commercial maintenance or construction start up/installation related experience.
Extensive ability for maintenance troubleshooting.
Extensive electrical/mechanical repair aptitude.
Extensive knowledge in a specialized skill including but not limited to electricity electronics plumbing HVAC telephones telecommunications.
Must be able to make proper decisions in an emergency situation meet deadlines and assist in keeping the hospital operating smoothly at all times.
Must be available for emergency call at specified intervals.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties or task may be requested or assigned by immediate supervisor his/her designee or other management/supervisor.
Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment according to established procedures; inspects calibrates adjusts lubricates and repairs or replaces components. Maintains documentation of work done on equipment.
Performs daily checks on all equipment and makes necessary repairs.
Assists in performing carpentry and painting as necessary in renovations and repairs.
Install and/or repair electrical systems plumbing systems HVAC equipment and systems telephones and associated wiring electronic systems as specialized skills dictate.
Assists department manager in ordering materials and supplies necessary to maintain equipment and facilities.
Assists in heavy moving necessitated by office changes renovation projects and/or moving items to storage.
Performs any such duties deemed consistent with the general maintenance of a healthcare facility or commercial physical plant facility and associated properties.
Attends departmental meetings safety meetings and in-services as required.
Equipment and materials that are to be used include: boilers generators air conditioning units pumps motors saws drills plumbing equipment basic carpentry tools basic maintenance tools acetylene and electric welder mowers weed trimmers etc.
Campus Security assist Hospital staff Security duties as assigned.

Co-workers are exposed to outside weather conditions occasionally including extreme heat and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment can be high at times. The stress level for this position is -worker must be able to work under pressure.
Certificates Licenses Registrations
State HVAC License EPA Certified Refrigeration License or a Master Electrical License.
State Boiler Operators License or be able to secure such licensing after 30 days on the job.
