Maintenance Technician I Real Estate

Performs maintenance service and/or repairs of all residential commercial and/or off-campus properties in two or more areas of skill including but not limited to plumbing carpentry machine servicing and electrical repairs or installations for the properties maintained by the Real Estate Department. Estimates time and determines materials required to complete various projects. The Maintenance Technician I will complete these repairs and preventative maintenance as required for the general upkeep of the properties of the Real Estate Department. Performs all work under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and in accordance with established safety procedures.

• Performs maintenance and repairs on a daily basis assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or other managerial staff at the residential and commercial properties. Assesses work orders and carries out the work as appropriate under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or a Maintenance Technician II as assigned. Logs materials used for appropriate warehouse tracking. Estimates tracks and documents time spent carrying out service and repairs.
• Resolves routine questions and problems in consultation with Maintenance Supervisor. Issues outside of normal daily duties and functions are referred to the Maintenance Supervisor for review and resolution.
• Take direction from the Maintenance Supervisor but will be expected to execute and complete the required repair or maintenance action to completion.
• Use good judgment and conscientious about the service calls and repairs undertaken in this position.
• Ensure parts and materials are recorded and tracked properly for inventory and parts usage.
• Performs other duties as assigned

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including ones qualifications and performance equity with others in the department market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
