Job Summary
PURPOSEUnder direct supervision the Maintenance Technician I is an entry level position and is responsible for conducting machine setup troubleshooting repairs and preventive maintenance service with basic efficiency. They may also be responsible for resolving warranty and non-warranty repairs to damaged products. Performs duties under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines motors pneumatic tools conveyor systems and production machines; following diagrams sketches operations manuals manufacturers instructions and engineering specifications; troubleshooting sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists cranes and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules calipers micrometers and other measuring functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools levels plumb bobs and downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and mechanical maintenance reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing information and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and to team effort by accomplishing related results as building lighting and plumping repairs for Facility as duties may be assignedSome positions may:Conduct service/repairs assist with warranty issues and file warranty reports with on-site assistance to help troubleshoot and repair product and/or and coordinate activities concerned with investigating and resolving customer reports of performance reports and documentation from customers and sales representatives and inspect malfunctioning or damaged product to determine nature and scope of review and inspection findings to determine source of problem and recommend repair replacement or other corrective high accuracy in performing service work on product per work order specifications. Provide a communication link between the customer and the Company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the up other maintenance technicians as supervisor of any shortages in stock or of any malfunctions or damage to equipment or vehicles. Help load trucks for delivery and assist in unloading incoming trucks. Restock incoming supplies keep tools and machinery clean and maintained and is responsible for all tools assigned to truck by keeping it clean and organized.
