Job Summary

Serene Gardens of Hartland is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician for our assisted living community. This position is responsible for the general maintenance of the building and property. This position will troubleshoot problems perform general repairs and preventative maintenance and work with outside contractors when necessary to ensure the properties are kept in good repair and up to code.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
  • Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner. Oversees outside contractors and signs off on work as needed.
  • Plans repair work using repair request forms building information repair schedules etc.
  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall painting and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
  • Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
  • Perform job responsibilities in accordance with company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED isrequired
  • A minimum of three years of maintenance experience is required.
  • Sufficient ability to read write speak understand and communicate in English.General knowledge of carpentry plumbing electrical HVAC etc.
  • Ability to use and experience with use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to identify issues and determine repairs needed.
  • Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain positive and professional interactions with residents and families at all times.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software.
