Job Summary
Mallard Manufacturing a MacLean-Fogg Company is hiring a Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift in Sterling this role you will troubleshoot repair maintain and improve electrical equipment and industrial control systems that support safe reliable manufacturing operations.
Location: Sterling IL
Work Arrangement: On-site
Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30 AM-2:30 PM
Pay: $20-$30/hour
Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly
Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs.
Provide moderately complex technical support for electrical and engineering challenges in the manufacturing environment including support during construction activities.
Perform preventive maintenance troubleshooting skilled repairs installation and upgrades on manufacturing equipment and industrial control systems.
Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes using hand tools and measuring instruments.
Collaborate with engineers to identify and solve development problems analyze test information and resolve design-related issues.
Create or modify diagrams and prepare engineering specifications for experimental electronics.
Assist with the design evaluation and repair of electrical equipment while completing required documentation accurately.
Perform equipment maintenance monitoring troubleshooting calibration and numerical control tasks to support equipment functionality and reliability.
Follow all Safety Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
High school education.
Typically 2 years of experience in a technical role with solid working knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
Ability to perform assigned work with occasional supervision and oversight.
Experience using hand tools and interpreting electrical diagrams.
Proficiency in equipment maintenance monitoring and troubleshooting.
Ability to perform calibration and numerical control tasks and maintain accurate process documentation.
Strong manual dexterity and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to interpret work instructions accurately.
This role involves hands-on work in a manufacturing environment and requires:
Lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Standing for extended periods.
Pushing or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Frequent bending and stooping.
Manual dexterity to handle small objects.
Working in noisy environments.
Working in confined spaces.
Working from elevated platforms.
