The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing ongoing hotel maintenance and completing repairs to ensure a safe functional and well-maintained environment for guests and associates. This role includes maintaining machinery plumbing HVAC and electrical systems; conducting routine inspections; and coordinating major repairs as needed.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance in guest rooms public areas and back-of-house spaces to ensure safe and operational conditions.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and associates prioritizing based on urgency and operational impact.
- Inspect troubleshoot and repair building systems including HVAC plumbing electrical lighting and appliances.
- Complete assigned work orders accurately and within established timeframes using the propertys tracking system.
- Conduct regular property walks to identify safety hazards maintenance needs and compliance concerns.
- Maintain pools spas and related equipment in accordance with health department regulations where applicable.
- Ensure proper use storage and inventory of tools equipment and maintenance supplies.
- Support room readiness by completing maintenance inspections prior to guest arrival.
- Perform minor carpentry painting drywall repair and general facility upkeep.
- Adhere to all OSHA standards and company safety policies including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in emergency response procedures including fire alarms water leaks and power outages.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
- Maintain organized maintenance areas in compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
- Communicate effectively with housekeeping front desk and leadership regarding maintenance priorities and status updates.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle feel and operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to bend reach stoop kneel and crouch to perform maintenance tasks.
- Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently to lift carry push pull or move objects.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read write and interpret instructions safety procedures and work orders.
- Ability to clearly convey information and respond to questions from guests associates and leadership.
- Ability to assess situations and determine appropriate courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Ability to identify troubleshoot and resolve routine maintenance and operational issues.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in stressful or high-pressure situations.
- Ability to respond to guest concerns with professionalism and a solutions-oriented approach regardless of origin.
