Job Summary

Position Summary

A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a 2nd shift Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations and ensure the reliability efficiency and safety of production equipment facilities and supporting systems. This role is responsible for leading maintenance personnel coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities minimizing downtime and supporting operational goals through effective workforce management and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong background in equipment maintenance troubleshooting and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with all safety environmental and operational standards.
  • Lead daily maintenance operations to maximize equipment uptime and support production objectives.
  • Develop implement and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities repairs and equipment servicing to minimize disruptions to manufacturing operations.
  • Plan prioritize and assign work to maintenance personnel to ensure efficient utilization of labor materials and resources.
  • Monitor repair quality maintenance schedules and equipment performance to ensure operational reliability.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate corrective actions to reduce downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with production engineering quality and operations teams to schedule maintenance activities and support plant objectives.
  • Coach mentor and develop maintenance team members while fostering a positive and accountable work environment.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations training initiatives and workforce development activities.
  • Ensure proper inventory levels of maintenance materials spare parts and repair supplies.
  • Enforce company policies procedures and workplace standards.
  • Maintain effective communication across departments and shifts to support efficient plant operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements equipment upgrades and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Promote housekeeping and workplace organization standards throughout maintenance operations.
  • Support capital projects equipment installations and facility improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or post-secondary education preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of maintenance leadership lead technician or supervisory experience.
  • Experience within a heavy manufacturing industrial metals mining casting steel or similar production environment required.
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale industrial equipment and maintenance operations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance systems equipment reliability and maintenance planning.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.

  • Ability to organize prioritize and direct maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Knowledge of mechanical electrical hydraulic pneumatic and industrial systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to drive accountability employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency with maintenance reporting scheduling and performance tracking.
  • Strong organizational planning and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on safety quality and productivity.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and maintenance management software.

Work Environment

  • Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment moving machinery heat noise dust and other typical manufacturing conditions.
  • Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
