Job Description:
The Maintenance Supervisor I leads the skilled technical personnel in the maintenance and repair of plant machinery tooling equipment and building services in a safe and effective manner.
- Ensures labor is managed efficiently andeffectively.
- Provides guidance direction and training to personnel in respective areas asneeded.
- Ensures all work by skilled personnel is performed in a safe manner and in accordance with OSHAand company safetystandards.
- Prioritizes maintenance activities in accordance with production requirements to ensureminimal machine downtime.
- Implements and maintains work orders and ensures appropriate reporting/feedback is supplied to the initiators.
- Develop and implement schedules and procedures for equipment repairs and preventativemaintenance programs.
- Meets with Operations to review production downtime and other production problems and to assistin coordination of efforts to minimize effects ofproblems.
- Ensures that items are available in tool crib and orders for replacement parts are submittedtimely.
- Ensures that 6S standards are being maintained within the maintenance/tooling department toolcrib and workareas.
- Direct and allocate overtime hours as schedules require supporting all productionactivities.
- Performs/assists in associate performance reviews anddiscussions.
- Supports continuous improvementprojects.
- Participates in and provides training asrequired.
- Participates in and performs Layered Process Audits (LPA) perplan.
- Ensures Housekeeping and Health & Safety Standards aremaintained.
- Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such asTS 16949 and ISO14001.
- Utilizes the concepts of continuous improvement includingLean.
- May on occasion be required to perform duties other than those specified in thisdescription.
- Will cover plant wide operations and backfill production as needed.
- Manage Facility repair and maintenance as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Four-year College or University Degree/Technical degree in Engineering/related fieldpreferred.
- Minimum of three years experience in automotiveindustry.
- Prior leadership experiencepreferred.
- Technicalabilitytosolvecomplexproblemsandexercisejudgementbasedontheanalysisofmultiple sources ofinformation.
- Experience in a variety of basic operations disciplines: Manufacturing Quality Process / Tooling and Shop FloorSupervision.
- Identifies and coordinates the resolution of issues related to programs orprocesses.
- Proficient in MicrosoftOffice.
- Excellent written and verbal communicationskills.
- Willingness and ability to travel asnecessary.
- Professional OfficeEnvironment.
- Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturingfloor.
- Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations whenrequired.
- Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance ofinjury.
