Job Summary
West Monroe Convention Center (Maintenance Staff)
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks in the maintenance of the facility
- Uses detailed room diagram specific for each event to ensure room is set up prior to the event (working in conjunction with Events Coordinator)
- Cleans tabletops stage units and chairs as needed
- Occasionally ensure common areas are clean prior to the buildings use (restrooms lobby hallways etc.)
- Operate hand tools and small engine machinery
- Ensures all janitorial equipment is in proper working order
- Maintains neat and organized storage room(s)
- Maintains and ensures exterior area is clear of debris and clean
- Replaces all light bulbs in facility
- Must operate all equipment (floor cleaning machinery forklift etc.)
- Work at facility during hosted events as assigned by the Director
- Must program HVAC schedules specific to all event times to ensure proper heating/cooling in the meeting areas.
- Operate forklift floor buffers steam cleaners floor cleaners washers vacuum mop broom dusting equipment and related equipment
- Ensuring that quality client/customer standards are always upheld
- Take direction and perform other duties from manager(s) as assigned
- Supervision ExercisedNone generally; may supervise temporary employees

Physical Requirements
- Constant standing walking bending reaching and repetitive motions
- Ability to lift push/pull weight of up to 50lbs
- Long shifts during events
- Demanding physical labor
Environmental Working Conditions
- May be exposed to variable temperatures including extreme hot and cold
- While performing the duties of this job the employee occasionally works near mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet
Hours
Position requires flexibility. Time schedule will vary based on booked events. Applicant should expect night and weekend work on a regular basis and possibly some holiday work
