Job Summary
Purpose of Job:
Responsible for troubleshooting repairs and preventative maintenance of plant equipment in order to ensure a continuous production process.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely and properly uses basic hand and power tools.
- Performs a wide variety of basic to complex maintenance work.
- Performs complicated welding and brazing simple pump repairs pipe fittings carpentry plumbing painting masonry and other similar duties
- Sets up and operates drill press grinders and other shop equipment
- Performs a variety of lubrication duties.
- Uses a variety of test equipment of diagnose equipment problems.
- Makes complex repairs of equipment and its various supporting auxiliaries.
- Reads mechanical drawings
- Performs more complex mechanical duties including installation and setting up of equipment.
- Assists other maintenance personnel as required.
- Drives a truck or other maintenance vehicle as required.
- Assists with rebuilds
- Knows work order process: completing forms correct equipment number routing priority accurate description of problem and accurate completion statement.
- Effectively communicates with associates team members facilitators etc.
- Knows location of all process equipment.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Demonstrates real concern for safety quality and efficiency.
- Performs preventative maintenance on plant equipment
- Troubleshoots and repairs equipment according to maintenance standards
- Makes recommendations for repairs and maintenance
Additional Position Requirements:
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures to achieve KaMin Vision.
- Comply with safety rules policies and procedures with the intent to maintain a safe working environment. Report all safety incidents accidents or injuries to supervisor immediately.
- Required to participate in regularly scheduled safety meetings to meet team objectives.
- Must understand and comply with Personal Protective Equipment requirements for work area.
- Accepts and performs delegated tasks including: lead safety meetings housekeeping inspections completing forms
Working Conditions:
- Must work day and evening shifts and may be required to work overtime.
- Frequently exerts up to 50 lbs. of force to push pull or lift objects.
- Requires significant standing walking climbing kneeling and reaching.
- Works both inside and outside and is exposed to environmental conditions.
- Works around machinery and moving equipment and frequently exposed to noise vibrations chemicals dust fumes and slippery conditions.
- Personal safety/health protection is required including eye head and hearing protection. Requires wearing FR rated uniforms that are provided by company to comply with NFPA 70E requirements.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work and act safe.
- Minimum high school degree/GED. Higher education and/or licenses or certificates a plus.
- Initiative oriented; ability to independently perform job functions with minimal supervision.
- Must have a valid drivers license to drive company vehicles between facilities.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to use sound judgment and common sense when making complex decisions. Properly evaluates all facts and relevant data when making important decisions. Ability to investigate problems troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis.
- Ability to use appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to positively influence others and help facilitate the completion of team goals.
- Ability to read and comprehend bill of materials lot codes work instructions safety manuals and material safety data sheets.
