Job Summary
Overview:
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines motors pneumatic tools conveyor systems and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
Heres what youll do:
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Documents all work done on work orders per established procedures.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine dimensional changes.
- Adjusts functional parts of equipment and control devices.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Sets up and operates lathe drill press grinder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical equipment.
- Welds/fabricates equipment and components.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Heres what youll bring to the table:
- Typical Maintenance Mechanic I will have at least one year maintenance experience in a manufacturing/food processing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school/occupational training desired but not required.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English. Conversational Spanish is highly desired but not required.
- Must be able to perform basic arithmetic and algebraic functions.
- Must be able to troubleshoot equipment/process problems and propose solutions. Problem-solving skills are essential to this position.
