Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Hackettstown NJ
Pay: $30$45/hour
Schedule: 1st & 2nd Shift 40 hours/week

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking experienced Maintenance Mechanics for direct hire opportunities in a food manufacturing environment in Hackettstown NJ. This position is responsible for troubleshooting repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment to minimize downtime and keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot repair and perform preventive maintenance on industrial production equipment.
• Maintain fryers packaging/sealing machines conveyors motors bearings belts gearboxes and lubrication systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems including loading dock equipment.
• Maintain forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Read equipment manuals schematics and wiring diagrams to diagnose mechanical issues.
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting involving motors sensors controls and wiring as needed.
• Complete preventive maintenance documentation and respond to emergency equipment repairs.
• Coordinate with outside vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
• Work closely with Production and QA teams to reduce equipment downtime.
• Follow all plant safety USDA SQF GMP and food safety requirements.

Qualifications

• 2 years of industrial maintenance mechanic experience; food beverage or CPG manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
• Experience with industrial production and packaging equipment.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics pneumatics motors bearings belts and gearboxes.
• Ability to read equipment manuals diagrams and schematics.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus.
• Comfortable using hand tools power tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Strong problem-solving communication organization and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs.
