Starting Salary $1424.61 Bi-Weekly.(In accordance with current spending restrictions an internal promotion into the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employees current rate whichever is higher.)

DESCRIPTION:

This is work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines mechanical equipment or the structure of an establishment in repair.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inspects and tests machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.

Dismantles and reassembles defective machines and equipment.

Installs new or repaired parts.

Cleans and lubricates shafts bearings gears and other parts of machinery.

Installs and/or repairs wiring and electrical and electronic components.

Assembles installs and/or repairs pipe systems and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

Installs machinery and equipment.

Sets up and operates machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts jigs and fixtures and tools.

Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.

Records repairs made and costs.

Estimates costs of repairs.

Responds to repairs for emergency firefighting equipment.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability toinstall equipment machines wiring or programs to meet specifications.

Ability torepair machines or systems using the needed tools.

Knowledge ofperforming routine maintenance and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

Ability to troubleshootby determining what is causing an operating error and deciding what to do about it.

Knowledge of determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.

Knowledge of conducting tests to determine whether equipment software or procedures are operating as expected.

Ability toinspect and evaluate the quality of products.

Knowledge of controlling operations of equipment or systems.

Knowledge ofwatching gauges dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Knowledge of materials methods and the appropriate tools to construct objects structures and buildings.

Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs uses benefits repairs and maintenances.

Knowledge of equipment tools mechanical devices and their uses to produce motion light power technology and other applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Have experience operating lawn mowing equipment power tools and plumbing equipment.

Beagreeable to working a flex schedule including nights weekends and holidays. Extended hoursand on-callmay also be required.

Additional preference will be given to candidates with two years of experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings plumbing or electrical or mechanical equipment; or Vocational/technical training in mechanical repair or one of the building trades can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

When identified on a position description a valid drivers license is initially hired with an out-of-state license the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state drivers license within 30 days of hire. Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
