Job Description Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance department to ensure maximum equipment availability facility safety and operational efficiency. This role oversees a team of maintenance engineers and technicians manages the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program controls the maintenance budget leads site CapEx spend and drives reliability improvements. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of safety technical excellence and continuous improvement. Working with Aero Alliance. Aero Alliance is a joint venture between GE Vernova and Baker Hughes specializing in the repair and remanufacturing of channel-owned industrial gas turbine engines including the LM 2500 LM 6000 and LMS series. With approximately 400 employees operating across two shifts on a large industrial campus our work spans the full engine lifecycle: disassembly analysis component repair functional testing and return to service.

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of two maintenance engineers one currently on staff overseeing the test cell one to be hired setting the standard for technical rigor accountability and continuous growth
  • Serve as a genuine people leader: someone who can develop talent at different career stages hold a high bar and bring out the best in individuals through coaching and clear expectations
  • Build a team culture grounded in safety shop floor ownership and professional excellence

Vendor and Contractor Management

  • Negotiate and manage relationships with external contractors equipment OEMs and material suppliers to ensure responsiveness quality and cost efficiency

Safety and Compliance

  • Champion a Safety First culture across all maintenance activities ensuring full compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety and environmental policies Set and sustain the standard for how maintenance and safety coexist on a high-activity industrial campus

Financial and CapEx Stewardship

  • Build and manage the annual maintenance budget covering labor spare parts inventory outsourced services and capital expenditures Lead site CapEx planning and project execution from equipment installations to facility infrastructure improvements on time and within budget

Standards Development

  • Partner with the engineering group to create and maintain equipment standards across the manufacturing and repair process a foundational gap that this role is specifically charged with closing Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs that reduce unplanned downtime and extend critical equipment life

Day-to-Day Maintenance Operations

  • Oversee maintenance for all shop floor equipment including hydraulic stands Danabat grinding equipment and shank balancing equipment Manage unplanned equipment failures with urgency; lead root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and reduce downtime Balance tactical daily repairs with long-range reliability planning this role demands both every day

Test Cell Modernization

  • Partner closely with the existing maintenance engineer who is project managing a significant test cell renovation to define best-in-class maintenance practices for a complex double-bay gas turbine test cell Help determine what a high-performing well-maintained test cell looks like for this environment one that tests multiple configurations of the LM 2500 and LM 6000 and bring the strategic structure and execution discipline needed to move that project forward This is the highest-visibility challenge on campus and will require both technical judgment and strong leadership presence

Five-Year Maintenance Vision and Strategic Planning

  • Assess the current state of aging equipment and infrastructure across the campus and develop a clear prioritized roadmap for what needs to be upgraded or replaced Build and implement TPM and OEE programs from the ground up establishing the standards and practices this site needs to operate at the level it is capable of Track and improve key performance indicators including MTBF MTTR and OEE and convert that data into meaningful operational decisions

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical or Industrial) or equivalent work experience in industrial maintenance leadership.
  • 510 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of industrial automation PLCs hydraulics pneumatics and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and MS Office suite.
  • Strong financial acumen including budget tracking and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Proven ability to lead influence and manage cross-functional teams in a high-pressure environment.
  • In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations and safety/environmental compliance.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Able to read and interpret service repair manuals and technical publications to determine work procedures.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Experience developing TPM OEE programs
  • Direct experience managing shop floor personnel and contractors in a repair shop setting.
  • Strong background in managing large-scale capital investment projects.
  • Able to balance urgent daily repairs with long-term reliability planning.
  • Able to explain technical maintenance issues to non-technical stakeholders (e.g. Finance Executive Leadership).
  • Able to make high-stakes decisions under pressure during equipment outages.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $122600.00 and $204400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.
