Maintenance Laborer

St. Ambrose University is seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance Laborer to join our Facilities team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a safe clean and welcoming campus for students faculty staff and visitors.

As a member of the Facilities team you will assist with general maintenance event support and seasonal campus projects while working both independently and collaboratively with skilled trades staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance technicians and skilled trades personnel with building maintenance and repair projects.
• Move office equipment supplies and materials across campus.
• Participate in snow and ice removal efforts during winter weather events.
• Deliver materials tools and supplies to campus locations.
• Assist with setup and teardown of university events meetings and special functions.
• Operate hand tools power equipment and university vehicles safely and effectively.
• Help maintain a safe clean and attractive campus environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Experience with maintenance construction or related work is helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift carry push and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to perform physical labor including standing walking bending kneeling reaching and climbing.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
