Where is the work:

On-Site (5 days)

Performs any combination of (but not limited to) the following duties according to specific department guidelines:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Determine the existence of electrical hazards and problems. Safely isolate ground and prepare circuits and electrical apparatus to enable repairs.
  • Have knowledge of and use the required personal protective equipment to protect against arc flash and shock.
  • Experience in reading and troubleshooting from blueprints & schematics with system voltages 240 and 480 three-phase systems.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers motor start circuits control loops generators high voltage switchgear protective relaying and related equipment.
  • Read/interpret engineering drawings and manuals to install calibrate and maintain electrical apparatus. Work from complex engineering and manufacturers drawings or manuals to complete projects and assigned work.
  • Install electrical conduit pull and terminate wiring.
  • Ability to use electrical/electronic testing equipment to such as multi-meters ammeters megohm meters high potential testers oscilloscopes digital probes to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools related to the electrical trades.
  • Install and maintain control and distribution apparatus such as switches relays circuit breakers and control panels.
  • Install and maintain drive systems such as variable frequency drives eddy current and DC drives.
  • Install and maintain (point to point wiring equipment replacement) programmable logic control systems (PLC).
  • Install and calibrate pressure temperature flow and level controls.
  • Observe installed systems to detect hazards and determine the need for adjustments or modifications.
  • Design layout work on panels set up complex control systems interpret and alter engineering drawings and wiring diagrams if required.
  • Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment including electronic controls meters outlets panels and small mechanical devices such as motors.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulations.
  • Effectively communicate problems and solutions to resolve electrical problems.
  • Participate in the on-the-job training of line mechanics and apprentices as needed.
  • Use computerized maintenance system to retrieve and enter information.
  • Observe safe work practices and ensure work does not endanger others.
  • This role is considered safety sensitive.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of electrical industrial maintenance experience
  • Journeymans License or equivalent degree preferred
  • Proficient reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
