Maintenance Director (nursing home)

A skilled nursing facility in the Little Village area of Chicago is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to oversee the day-to-day maintenance safety and physical plant operations of the facility.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on dependable maintenance professional who understands the unique operational and regulatory requirements of a skilled nursing facility or healthcare environment and takes pride in maintaining a safe clean comfortable environment for residents staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee all maintenance repairs preventative maintenance and physical plant operations for the facility.
Ensure the building grounds equipment utilities and mechanical systems are properly maintained.
Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program.
Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies.
Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors.
Maintain accurate records of inspections repairs preventative maintenance and work orders.
Ensure the facility remains compliant with applicable healthcare life-safety fire building OSHA and regulatory requirements.
Prepare the facility for regulatory surveys and inspections and address identified deficiencies.
Monitor and maintain fire alarm sprinkler emergency power HVAC plumbing electrical and other critical systems.

Experience Required
3 years of maintenance experience preferably in a skilled nursing facility nursing home hospital assisted living senior living or other healthcare environment.
Previous experience working with building systems HVAC plumbing electrical mechanical systems and general facility repairs.
Strong understanding of preventative maintenance and life-safety requirements.
