A Day in the Life:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance repairs in a soybean processing facility. They perform routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment in the plant.

Position Details:

Day shift M-F ability to work overtime and on-call as needed

Pay: $30.94 an hour

What Youll Be Doing:

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facilitys equipment
• Read and interpret equipment manuals blueprints and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines equipment and plant facility
• Rebuild repair and replace damaged defective or worn parts
• Perform mechanical tasks including but not limited to mechanical electrical pneumatic hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines
• Diagnose problems replace or repair parts test and adjust as needed
• Use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment
• Perform welding including light fabrication of spouts transitions etc. from sheet metal including all positions (Stick MIG and TIG)
• Complete emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Detect faulty operations defective material and report those and any unusual situation to proper supervision
• Rebuild pumps and gearboxes
• Inspect for conformity to industry standards or specifications
• Maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees
• Participate in Bunges Employee Safety Involvement Plan
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• General troubleshooting and maintenance skills
• Welding experience (stick and MIG)
• Knowledge of bearing installation and clearance setting
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Must be proficient in reading speaking and writing English

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with SAP maintenance software
• Experience with PLC and HVAC
