Maintenance 211121 Housekeeper

POSITION SUMMARY:The Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the designated YMCA FUNCTIONS: Perform daily cleaning of assigned facility including but not limited to: cleaning and sanitizing restrooms & locker rooms vacuuming dusting mopping trash removal window cleaning trash pickup and removal spill cleanup floor cleaning and maintenance in all areas of the Y. Maintain all cleaning equipment supplies and products; ensure safe and sanitary storage and care of products In charge of vacuuming equipment; vacuums and cleans carpets performs further treatments such as shampoo or stain-removal as needed Ensure all directions for cleaning chemicals and supplies are followed as directed. Responsible for ensuring proper supply levels are maintained as well as reporting all inventory and/or supply needs to supervisor in a timely manner to ensure the cleanliness of the facility. Interacts with members and staff in a positive professional manner that supports our cause. Report any maintenance issues or concerns to supervisor immediately. Assist and/or perform projects of a special nature. Must be able to read and write legibly and in an understandable manner. Other duties as assigned by :Education: High School diploma : Previous experience in commercial housekeeping (s) & Requirements: Any Janitorial Custodial or Floor Maintenance certification preferred. CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire. Must be 18 years of Skills and Knowledge: Must be able to effectively communicate with members and YMCA staff. Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Customer-oriented and friendly Prioritization and time management skills Working quickly without compromising quality Must be able to read and understand cleaning product and equipment instructions and apply them effectively. Demonstrate commitment to the mission cause of the YMCA and uphold its values and ethics. Ability to work effectively work with people of different backgrounds abilities opinions and perceptions Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. All employees are required to follow the child abuse and neglect reporting process: completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate supervisor branch executive risk management and human resources department (s).PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to move and lift 50-75 lbs. Must be willing and able to climb a ladder. A frequent amount of standing walking reaching stooping kneeling and ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.
