As a Machinist you will be required to complete a machining function from start to finish. You will load fixtures/parts onto the machine indicate them round and flat to the machine surface. Set tools and generate offsets. Be responsible for recording dimensions throughout the machining process.

What youll do:

• Machine products to tight tolerances
• Reads and interprets specification manuals blueprints templates and layouts to determine machining operation to be performed
• Verifies dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers gauges and micrometers
• Computes dimensions and tolerances and measures and lays out work pieces
• Adjusts and sets up machine tools for use by machining tool operators
• Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements
• Work independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality
• Compute and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy
• Observing all applicable safety practices
• Carries out other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• 3 or more years of experience as a Machinist including operating lathes or mills.
• 3 or more years of experience reading/interpreting manuals and technical drawings utilizing hands tools and working with precision measuring instruments (e.g. calipers gauges micrometers).
• 3 or more years of experience with manual machine tools operations.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
• Ability to stand for 5 plus hours at a time

Desired Skills

• Preferred CNC or Manual Machinist Certification

• VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) experience

• High degree of mechanical aptitude accuracy and precision
