Machinist
Traditional Machinist experience a must. Under minimal supervision sets up and operates computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools such as lathes and milling machines to cut and produce precision parts for machines instruments and tools and repair or produce parts using both manual and automated equipment with precise measurements in support of plant maintenance operations.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proven experience as machinist.
- Experience in using and/or programming manual semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes grinders etc.)
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
- Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Reads and interprets blueprints.
- Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Uses precision tools machinery and equipment such as lathe vertical milling machine drill press hydraulic press chop saw band saw push and pull broaches and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.
- Fabricates and shapes parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal plastics and composites
- Properly and safely selects aligns secures and removes holding fixtures cutting tools attachments accessories and materials onto machines
- Recognizes deploys and properly uses inserts fixtures and tooling
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
- Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production
- Ability to track parts and jobs into CMMS.
- Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures
- Comply with all quality policies specifications regulations and instructions
- Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not limited to the following: rain gear chemical protective clothing supplied air and air purifying respirators safety harness sand blast hoods fire resistant coveralls hard hat ear plugs and safety glasses.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body able to reach overhead able to work in various positions including but not limited to stooping standing bending over sitting kneeling squatting; use hands to handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; work at heights; balance for extended periods of time.

Qualifications Required for this Position:
Education: no minimum education requirements.
Experience:3-5 years of experience in an industrial setting preferred.
Must pass pre-employment physical drug screening and background check as condition of employment.
