Machinery Maintenance Mechanic Generator

Alutiiq Logistics & Maintenance Services LLC (ALMS) has an exciting opportunity for a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic - Generators at Naval Air Station in Pensacola Generator Mechanic ensures the proper function of assigned machinery types through preventative maintenance troubleshooting diagnosing and repair.

• Service and troubleshoot diesel engines generators transfer switches lighting carts uninterrupted power supplies and controls.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance generators transfer switches lighting carts uninterrupted power supplies and controls.
• Monitor periodically to ensure proper functioning and performance.
• Load test batteries check and repair charging systems.
• Maintain Generator records with accurate documentation of service and repairs
• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment measuring devices power tools and testing equipment including oscilloscopes ammeters and test lamps.
• Make recommendations to supervisor as necessary on the performance of all equipment.
• Respond to electrical and equipment emergencies at any time.
• Ensure that safe working conditions are being maintained in all areas.
• Checks surrounding area for good appearance cleanliness and accessibility
• Identifies and reports to Supervisor any discrepancies
• Completes Work Orders and time sheets daily and accurately.
• Initiates material requisitions to order parts/materials needed for repairs.
• Work also involves other duties as assigned

• 5 years of commercial/industrial generator experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of generators diesel and gaseous engines controls and systems transfer switches and switch gear.
• Must be able to troubleshoot & repair AC and DC controls and equipment such as engine controllers Automatic Voltage Regulators battery chargers block heaters automatic transfer switches and switchgear.
• Must have advanced understanding of various generator components and their functions including current transformers relays engine control modules exhaust control technologies voltage regulation.

Pay rate: $44.72 per hour
